Animation giant & film director Myron "Grim"
Natwick was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He worked for all the major
studios of the classic era including Fleischer Studios where he created Betty
Boop. At Disney, Natwick worked on such shorts as The Cookie Carnival and
Mickey's Fire Brigade, and was a key player in the creation of Snow White. He lived
to be an amazing 100-years-old thus becoming known as "the man who lived
the entire history of animation"!
At Disney, Natwick was a lead animator on Snow White and the
Seven Dwarfs, and was instrumental in bringing the titular heroine to life. He
also helped to animate Mickey Mouse in Fantasia. He also helped animate "Mickey's
Polo Team" (1936). He is my 482nd pick to be named a Disney Legend.
As a distant relative to grim (great great nephew) this is nice to hear, thanks
ReplyDeleteAs Grims grandson I would like to know why he hasn't been named a Disney Legend a long time ago. He did animation on a film that literally saved the studio from BANKRUPTCY. If Snow White had not been the success it was
ReplyDeleteMickey Mouse and the rest would belong to the Bank of America. And he's not a Disney Legend .WTF
I don't understand why Grim would be your 482 pick. He should be your FIRST.
