Disney has announced their new Legends Award winners. Several were on my list. I really do not include news anchors and people from ABC, etc.. Here is the announcement:
At every D23 Expo, we gather together to celebrate a new class of Disney
Legends. The Disney Legends Awards ceremony—just one of the highlights
of the ultimate Disney fan event—has honored many of Disney’s brightest
stars and notable luminaries, starting with Fred MacMurray in 1987.
Since then, The Walt Disney Company has celebrated 289 Disney Legends,
including the 11 talented individuals who will be inducted this
year—Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Bette
Midler, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer,
Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer—who will be honored for their remarkable
contributions to the Disney legacy.
In years past there have been surprise additions as the Expo gets closer, we will see this year. Note Christina Aguilera was named later.
Those who made it from my list include Wing Chao, James Earl Jones, Ming-Na Wen, Bette Midler, Hans Zimmer, Robert Downey Jr, and Jon Favreau. Congrats to these new Disney Legends. I replaced these new legends with others such as Mike and Patty Pereza and Billy Dee Williams.
